MISSION, Kan. - For the second consecutive year, Kristin Chapman is listed among the top soccer players in the region. On Tuesday, the Ole Miss junior defender earned All Central Region second team honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Chapman, an NSCAA All-Region third team honoree a year ago, is one of only two players to have started every game over the last two years. She picked up her second straight All-SEC selection this season, first with the first team, in addition to taking SEC All-Tournament accolades, after starting at forward and collecting two assists in the semifinal finish.
The Vicksburg, Miss., native garners the eighth All-Region selection for the Ole Miss soccer program.
"It's a tremendous honor for Kristin to be recognized as one of the top defenders in one of the nation's top regions," said Rebel Head Coach Steve Holeman. "She has been a big part of our team's success over the past two seasons, and she's a great representative for Ole Miss."
Ole Miss finished the 2001 campaign with a 10-10-1 mark, giving the Rebels their sixth consecutive season with a .500 or better record. The Rebels became the only SEC Western Division squad to have earned an SEC Tournament berth the past five seasons and is the West's winningest team over that stretch.
