Ole Miss will meet No. 7 TCU in the first round of the tournament Thursday at 8:00 a.m. PST. The two teams met in the NCAA Championships in 1996 with TCU claiming a 4-0 win and then again in 1997 at this same tournament with Ole Miss winning 4-1. TCU comes into the tournament with a 3-0 record.
The Rebels enter the tournament with a 4-0 record inlcuding a 4-1 win over No. 15 Mississippi State in the Mississippi Cup. On Sunday, the Rebels defeated Middle Tennessee 4-3. They are led by sophomore Alex Hartman, who moved up to No. 11 in the latest singles rankings released Monday.
If Ole Miss defeats TCU, they could face SEC foe Tennessee in the quarterfinals. The Vols are ranked No. 2 in the nation and will play Oklahoma State in the first round. The Rebels defeated Tennessee 4-3, on the road last year in the SEC regular season.
Ole Miss went 1-2 at last year's National Team Indoor. They posted a 7-1 win over New Mexico in the first round before falling to Duke, 4-3, in the quarterfinals. The Rebels then lost to Florida 5-3 in the consolation bracket. The Rebels have twice advanced to the semifinals in 1996 and 1997.
