FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Ole Miss soccer player Jennifer Soileau was drafted Sunday by the Philadelphia Charge in the Women's United Soccer Association supplemental college draft. Soileau, a midfielder from Baton Rouge, La., was the seventh pick of the third round.

The Rebels' all-time leading scorer, Soileau closed out her four-year UM career in the fall with her third All-SEC first team selection. She was also named to the 2000 All-Central Region first team by both the NSCAA and Soccer Buzz, in addition to earning Academic All-America status.

"I think it's a reflection of what she has done at Ole Miss," said Ole Miss head coach Steve Holeman. "This is a tremendous opportunity for Jenn to prove herself as one of the elite. These are the top players in the world.

"I'm sure she'll do a great job of representing Ole Miss and the SEC."

The eight-team WUSA held its draft Sunday from the sixth annual Umbro Select All-Star Classic. A total of 45 undrafted college seniors were split into three teams and played games from Thursday through Sunday. Each team was able to choose from the participating seniors, as well as the undrafted participants from the WUSA combine in December.

The first picks were both defenders from Notre Dame ? Kelly Lindsey by the Bay Area CyberRays and Jen Grubb by the Washington Freedom.
