Schauberger Earns Academic All-America Honors

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Ole Miss soccer player Sara Schauberger has been named to the 2001 Verizon Academic All-America third team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America. It is Schauberger?s first selection to the All-America Fall/Winter Women's At-Large Team.

Schauberger, who registers a perfect 4.00 grade point average in Marketing, was the top vote getter on the women's all-district team and the only one to have a perfect GPA.

A native of Russellville, Ky., Schauberger played in 18 games of her senior year and started one. She has seen action at defender, forward or midfielder for the back-to-back SEC Western Division Champions. Schauberger scored the game winner in a 1-0 victory over Tennessee in the 1999 SEC Tournament.

Schauberger, a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, was named to the 1999 GTE Academic All-District Team, and attends Ole Miss on four academic scholarships.
