Mira Radu Places Third At Tulane Green Wave Classic

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Ole Miss' Mira Radu placed third in the "A" singles competition in rain-shortened action at the 2001 Tulane Green Wave Classic on Sunday. Radu finished third with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over South Alabama's Katarina Palenikova.
In other singles action, Sabrina Peppl defeated New Orleans' Ana Santoro, 6-1, 7-6 in a match between fifth-place finishers in the "A" and "B" singles brackets.
The Lady Rebel doubles team of Audra Adams and Camilla Gould placed third in the "B" doubles bracket. The Ole Miss duo defeated Louisiana-Lafayette's Robin Singh and Amanda Cowieson, 8-3. The doubles team of Radu and Florenica Basile dropped its third-place match in "A" doubles to South Alabama's Josien Boverhof and Dominika Nemocovicova, 8-2.
Lady Rebel matches not completed due to rain were Basile's and Karem Harboe's "A" singles matches.
