Rod Barnes Coaching Clinic Videotapes On Sale

OXFORD, Miss. - Videotapes of the Rod Barnes Coaching Clinic can be purchased for 10 dollars from the Ole Miss men's basketball office. Contact Coordinator of Basketball Operations Jay Bowen at 662-915-7613 or jdbowen@olemiss.edu to purchase a copy of the daylong clinic.
The clinic, held at Tad Smith Coliseum Oct. 26, proved to be a huge success, with over 70 coaches from five states attending the event. Those in attendance heard talks from Coach Barnes and Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach Tony Smith and also watched the Rebel basketball squad practice.
"The response for the clinic's first year was incredible," Barnes said. "From talking with coaches afterwards, I know they took some ideas that they can use for their basketball programs, and our staff learned some things as well from the coaches that attended. It was a great day of basketball."
The Rebels, which return four starters and 11 letterwinners from the 2001-02 team, host their first exhibition game Nov. 9 versus West Alabama. Game time is to be determined. Ole Miss opens regular-season play at East Carolina Nov. 24. Game time for the season opener is 1:00 p.m. (CT).
