OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's golf team added two players to the program with the signing of Katie Davidson of Bon Aire, Ga., and Adrienne White of Red Deer, Alberta, announced second-year head coach Meghan Bolger on Tuesday.

The Lady Rebels, who are enjoying a solid fall season under Bolger, are elated about the addition of these two young players at the beginning of the 2003 season.

"We are extremely excited about Katie and Adrienne joining the Lady Rebel program," said Bolger. "Both are incredible student-athletes and will impact our program both on and off the course. Both young ladies have extensive athletic backgrounds and are ready to add to our success here at Ole Miss."

Davidson comes to Ole Miss after being named the AAU Golfer of the Year for the state of Georgia in 2002. A senior at Warner Robins High School, Davidson has claimed several tournament titles throughout her career, including a first-place finish at the 2001 Region 2-Class 4A Championships, where she fired a 74. Davidson also claimed the Ladies Championships at the Landings Golf Course, firing a 72-69-141 and a third-place finish at the 2001 GHSA State Tournament with a score of 75. She has played golf for Warner Robins for three years and also served as captain of the varsity basketball team.

White, a senior at Hunting Hills High School, has made an impact in tournaments across Canada and at her high school. She finished first at the High School Provincials and recorded a 10th-place finish at the Alberta Junior Championships. White also claimed a second-place finish on the Western Canadian Junior Golf Tour and a 15th-place finish at the Canadian Junior Ladies Championship. She was named the MVP of her team for the 2000 season and will be representing the province of Alberta in the Canadian Winter Games this February. White also plays ringette.

These are the first two signees of the 2003-04 season for the women's golf program.
