Ole Miss Takes Second In Hawaii Rifle Contest

HONOLULU, Hawaii - The Ole Miss rifle team took second place, with two shooters finishing in the top five, after two days of shooting in Hawaii against Nevada-Reno, and San Francisco.
Ole Miss notched a score of 1493 on the first day and a 1497 on the second day of competition.
The Rebels were led in the two day event by Shanda Duval and Kristin Parker, who finished third and fourth respectively. Duval fired a 375 on the first day and a 380 on the second day, while Parker fired a 375 and a 379.
Senior Misty Ballard fired a 366 and a 371, while Megan Roberts turned in scores of 377 and 367 for the two days. Team captain Maranda Stockton competed as an individual, recording scores of 367 and 374.
The Rebels will conclude competition at the Great American Rifle Tournament. The GARC tournament will be hosted by West Virginia University.
