Lady Rebels In Ninth After First Day At SEC Championships

ATHENS, Ga. - Kerrie Davis and Elizabeth Hoffman pushed the Lady Rebels to ninth after the first day of competition in the SEC Championships with their scores of 76, as the Lady Rebels fired a 310 as a team at the University of Georgia Golf Course on Friday.
The Lady Rebels, who are currently ranked No. 45 in the nation, are fighting for an NCAA Tournament berth in its last tournament before bids are extended to teams for the NCAA Regionals.
Davis and Hoffman both fired a 4-over par 76 in the first round of competition to tie for the No. 22 spot overall in the tournament. Teesha Ash and team captain Bernadette Luse both tied for 39th overall with their first round scores of 79.
Freshman Nikki Hadd rounded out the scoring for Ole Miss as she carded an 81 in the first round to take a tie for 47th.
The second round of the tournament will be played Saturday, with teams teeing off at 8 a.m. The tournament is being played and hosted at the University of Georgia.
