Women's Tennis Sweeps Arkansas 7-0

OXFORD, Miss. - The 30th-ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team swept Arkansas 7-0 Friday afternoon at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center to improve to 9-9 overall and 2-7 in the SEC.
Ole Miss went 1-0 by claiming the doubles point for only the seventh time this season. They are undefeated when winning the doubles point. Arkansas (6-13, 0-9) had to default No. 3 doubles and then the Lady Rebel duo of Karem Harboe and Florencia Basile defeated Adriana Lopez and Iliana Pacheco 8-5 at the No. 2 spot to get the point.
Arkansas, who had only five players due to injury, had to default the No. 6 singles match to give Ole Miss a 2-0 lead. Audra Adams quickly made it 3-0 when she downed Christian Kincannon 6-0,6-1 at No. 5 singles.
Basile beat Megan Ferreira 6-2, 7-5 at No. 3 singles to clinch the win. Sabrina Peppl handed Pacheco a 6-3, 6-4 loss at No. 4 singles to make it 5-0 Lady Rebels. Senior Alesya Ignatieva, playing her first match ever at No. 1 singles, defeated 65th-ranked Lopez 7-5, 6-2.
Harboe won her third SEC match in a row, downing Anna Dybicz 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2 singles to complete the sweep.
Ole Miss will conclude its home schedule Sunday against LSU at 1 p.m. It is Senior Day, and the Lady Rebels will honor their two seniors, Ignatieva and Camilla Gould prior to the match.
