OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss soccer 2002 recruiting class has been ranked third among Southeastern Conference schools, according to Soccer Buzz magazine. The Rebels' signing class was also tabbed 43rd nationally and 8th in the Central Region.

Ole Miss' incoming class includes a pair of prep All-Americans in Brittney Potts (Franklin, Tenn.) and Lyndsey Williams (Germantown, Tenn.). The other five signees are Hillary Beckman (Anchorage, Ky.), Katie Bindner (Goshen, Ky.), Ashley Hanne (Franklin, Tenn.), Megan Morton (Auburndale, Fla.) and Kathryn White (Brandon, Miss.).

Among other SEC members, Auburn's recruiting class was picked 15th in the nation, while Kentucky ranked 23rd. North Carolina's signees were chosen No. 1 overall, followed by UCLA, Virginia and Arizona State.

Soccer Buzz also named OleMissSports.com as one of the 20 National Top Web Sites in collegiate soccer.

Coming off their sixth straight season with a .500 or better record, the Rebels open the 2002 campaign on Aug. 30 against Georgia State as part of the Ole Miss Invitational in Oxford. UM, which begins summer practice on Saturday, hosts Tulsa on Aug. 24 in preseason competition.

Ole Miss finished the 2001 campaign with a 10-10-1 mark, and advanced to the semi-finals of the SEC Tournament for the second time in three years. The Rebels became the only SEC Western Division squad to have earned a conference tourney berth the past five years, and is the West's winningest team over that stretch.
