OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Justin Reed had 21 points, including two clinching free throws with 10 seconds remaining as Mississippi held off a furious rally by Southeastern Louisiana to win 52-48 Saturday.
The Rebels (2-1) trailed 48-47 with 50 seconds remaining, blowing an 18-point lead in the first half. Kendrick Fox, who finished with 10 points, drilled a three-point shot from the corner with 30 seconds left to reclaim the lead, 50-48.
Reed pulled down a career-high 19 rebounds and Aaron Harper added 11 points for Ole Miss.
Terry West led Southeastern Louisiana (1-2) with 13 points while Amir Abdur-Rhaim had 11. Nate Lofton had 11 points and 14 rebounds for the Lions.
The Rebels racked up 17 unanswered points to build a 22-6 lead with 4:07 left in the first half. Southeastern Louisiana was only 4-of-28 from the field in the half, including 14 consecutive misses during the Ole Miss surge. The Rebels led 31-14 at halftime.
