FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - David Sanders scored 23 points in Mississippi's 64-54 win over Arkansas on Saturday.
Justin Reed contributed 15 points for the Rebels (13-14, 4-12 Southeastern Conference), while Emmanuel Wade and Aaron Harper had 10 points.
Kendrick Davis scored 16 for the Razorbacks (9-18, 4-12) and Dionisio Gomez had 15.
Ferguson's 3-pointer midway through the second half sparked a short-lived run by Arkansas to close the Rebels' lead, 44-34.
The Razorbacks couldn't keep time with the Rebels as Arkansas continually dragged at least 10 points behind through most of the second half.
Davis hit scored two points from the right baseline, and Larry Satchell had two huge blocks to deny the Rebels shots at the basket. The 7-0 run by the Razorbacks brought them within three, 51-48. But the Rebels came back to recapture a 10-point lead as Harper landed five points.
Free throws hurt Arkansas in the end, as the Razorbacks had trouble hitting the first of two, and the Rebels went to the line five times within a minute to seal a 10-point lead, 64-54.
Mississippi opened with eight points before Arkansas responded with a basket by Carl Baker. Larry Satchell closed the gap with back-to-back dunks, 11-7.

The Rebels pulled away with 3s from Emmanuel Wade and Justin Reed, 25-16, but three layups by the Razorbacks closed the gap, 29-23, with just more than two minutes in the first half.
A 7-0 run by Mississippi closed the half, 36-23.
Arkansas head coach Stan Heath started four seniors - Dionisio Gomez, Blake Eddins, Carl Baker and Alonzo Lane - in their final game at Bud Walton Arena.
