Lady Rebel Netters Set To Travel To Arkansas And LSU

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's tennis team will travel to Arkansas and Louisiana this weekend for a pair of matches. On Friday, the Lady Rebels will be in Fayetteville to take on the Lady Razorbacks at 2 p.m. and then on Sunday they will face LSU at 1 p.m. in Baton Rouge.

The Lady Rebels concluded their five-match homestand last weekend with back-to-back losses to Georgia and Tennessee. The Lady Rebels played a hard-fought match against No. 6 Georgia, before losing 5-2. Senior Mira Radu knocked off the nation's No. 1 player, Agata Cioroch, handing the Lady Bulldog her first dual match loss this season. Against No. 10 Tennessee, the Lady Rebels dropped a 6-1 decision.

Arkansas comes into the weekend at 8-10 overall and winless in the SEC at 0-8. They are coming off a 7-0 loss to Vanderbilt. The Lady'Backs are led by sophomore Simona Arghire, who is 7-8 at No. 1 singles. The Lady Rebels are 14-5 overall against Arkansas, including 12-2 since 1990. Ole Miss won last year's meeting 7-0 in Oxford.

LSU enters the weekend at 8-10 overall and 1-7 in the SEC. They were scheduled to play Tulane Wednesday. The Tigers fell to 1-7 in the SEC after back-to-back losses to Vanderbilt (7-0) and Kentucky (7-0) last weekend. The Tigers are led by junior Rocio Fantilli, who is 14-5 overall and 4-11 at No. 1 singles. Ole Miss has won 13 regular season meetings in a row over LSU, including last year's 4-3 win in Oxford.
