Lady Rebels Ranked 17th In Latest Golfweek.com Rankings

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's golf team broke into the top 25 of the Golfweek.com rankings this week. The Lady Rebels are the 17th-ranked team in the nation according to the online site.
Propelled by two strong top-five performances to open the season, this is believed to be the highest ranking achieved in the history of the program. Southeastern Conference rivals Auburn (No. 2) and Arkansas (No. 11) are the only two conference teams ranked ahead of Ole Miss.
"This is an exciting time for our program," said head coach Meghan Bolger, who is in her third season with the Lady Rebels. "It's early in the season, but it's an incredible accomplishment. We're playing steady, and it's good to see the team's hard work pay off. We have two weeks to prepare for our next tournament, and this can only serve as motivation to continue to play well."
The Lady Rebels opened the season with a second-place finish at the Lady Razorback Invitational and followed that up with a fifth-place finish at the Cougar Classic, hosted by the College of Charleston.
Not only have the team performances been strong, but the individual performances have been just as solid. Freshman Adrienne White finished in third at the Lady Razorback Invitational, one of four Lady Rebels to finish in the top 20.
Junior Jade Polonich tied for fourth overall in the Cougar Classic, her third tournament of her career, firing a career-low of 69 in the first round. Polonich was one of three Lady Rebels to finish in the top 20 of the Cougar Classic.
Ole Miss is coming off a season that saw the squad advance to the NCAA East Regional, marking the third time in the last six years the team had advanced to the post season.
The Lady Rebels will return to action Oct. 10-11 at the Beacon Woods Invitational in Tampa, Fla. The Lady Rebels claimed the overall title of the same tournament in 2001, and turned in a third-place finish last season.
