Rebels Place Sixth At Memphis (Air Rifle) Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Ole Miss rifle team registered an air rifle score of 2289 Thursday afternoon to finish sixth at the 17-team Memphis Invitational.

Sophomore Jennifer Lorenzen led the Ole Miss red team with a 581, which ranked 11th overall. Junior Megan Sandage recorded a 571, while freshman Shannon Wilson turned in a 569 and freshman Casey Phillips registered a 568.

Junior Laura Gavin paced the Ole Miss blue team with a 576, while junior Natasha Phillips posted a 571. Junior Samantha Leach fired a 560, while sophomore Jessica McClain checked in at 504.

Sophomore Mara Polonsky, competing as an individual, recorded a 571.

Jacksonville State wrapped up the weekend with a pair of tournament titles. The Gamecocks fired a 2331 in air rifle to claim the Memphis Invitational before going on to win the Ole Miss Fall Invitational for both air rifle and smallbore.
