OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss soccer players Lindley Beckman, Leigh Barrow and Lyndsey Williams have been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District VI Team. The Rebels join Texas and Rice as the only district schools with three honorees.
Beckman collects her second straight All-District first team selection and is now a candidate to repeat as Academic All-America, which will be announced on Nov. 23. Last year, the senior Political Science major became the first Rebel soccer player to be honored on the Academic All-America first team.
Carrying a 3.96 GPA, Beckman has made the Chancellor's Honor Roll every collegiate semester and will become a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient. The midfielder from Anchorage, Ky., finished her career tied for the most starts in school history and was chosen to the SEC All-Tournament Team last week after scoring the game-winning goal against No. 9 Auburn.
Barrow, a senior Managerial Finance and Real Estate major from Guntersville, Ala., earns Academic All-District second team accolades for the second time in her career, having taken home the honor as a sophomore in 2002. The midfielder/defender boasts a 3.91 GPA and will pick up her third SEC Academic Honor Roll award this year. In addition, Barrow was a member of the SEC Good Works Team this season.
Williams also has a 3.91 GPA in Managerial Finance and nabbed second team distinction. A redshirt sophomore from Germantown, Tenn., Williams is set to grab her second SEC Academic Honor Roll selection, to go with such athletic achievements as the 2004 All-SEC second team and the Charlotte Classic All-Tournament Team.
