OXFORD, Miss. - While senior Catalin Gard began his quest for a second national title Thursday, at the ITA National Indoor, the rest of the Ole Miss men's tennis team will begin action in the 2004 Bulldog Scramble Friday, Nov. 7, at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.

The three-day event, which also includes players from Georgia, Florida and South Carolina, will feature a round-robin format with singles and doubles. Matches will be played at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day.

The tournament will feature several players from three of the top teams in the country in 2004. Ole Miss finished the 2004 season as the SEC Champion and ranked No. 5 in the nation. Georgia posted a final national ranking of No. 6, and Florida ended the year at No. 8.

Competing for the Rebels will be senior Karim Alayli, juniors Juan Pablo Di Cesare and David Donaldson, sophomores Eric Claesson and Fredrik Aarum and freshman Bram ten Berge.

The matches will count toward the players' individual records, but no team score will be recorded. The Rebels posted a combined 7-4 record at last year's Bulldog Scramble.
