Freshman Leads Women's Golf To Third At Tulane Invite

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Ole Miss women's golf team finished third out of nine teams at the 2004 Nokia Sugar Bowl/Tulane Invitational. After firing rounds of 303 and 317 at the English Turn Golf and Country Club Monday, the Rebels shot a 316 Tuesday to finish with a score of 936 for the two-day affair.
Freshman Adrienne White made her spring debut one to remember. The Alberta, Canada, native fired a 73-77-76=226 to tie for third place overall. Junior Nikki Hadd posted an 18th-place effort (78-80-81=239), while junior Jade Polonich (75-85-80=240) was one stroke behind in 19th. Sophomore Laura Evans tied for 22nd overall (77-75-89=241), while sophomore Sarah Kate Cousart finished 38th (83-89-79=251).
Tulane ran away with the 54-hole invite, posting a team score of 895. LSU took runner-up honors (929), while Campbell (946), Alabama (953), TCU (966), Mississippi State (969), East Carolina (974) and New Orleans (1,010) all finished behind Ole Miss.
The Rebels return to action March 5-7, with the LSU/Cleveland Golf Intercollegiate in Baton Rouge, La.
