Soccer's Karlowicz Earns All-Freshman Honors

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss soccer players continue to pile up postseason honors as Elise Karlowicz has been named to the Soccer Buzz Central Region All-Freshman Team.
A native of Katy, Texas, Karlowicz also took home SEC All-Freshman accolades. The 5-foot-9 defender was the lone Rebel freshman to start all 23 games and helped lead an Ole Miss defense that established school records for shutouts (12) and fewest goals allowed (18). The Rebels did not allow a score until the fifth game of the season.
Karlowicz also earned her first career point, picking up an assist in a victory over Memphis.
Karlowicz and the defense spearheaded a Rebel squad that enjoyed its most successful season in the fall. Ole Miss earned its second straight NCAA Tournament berth and advanced to the second round with an opening win over Texas.
With a 15-6-2 mark, the Rebels recorded their most single-season victories and finished top four in the SEC overall for the second straight year. Ole Miss also became the first school from Mississippi to crack the top-25 national rankings and rose as high as No. 21.
