Complete Spring Schedule

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss continues its offseason soccer competition Saturday with the first of three spring home events. The Rebels host the Ole Miss 7 Aside Tournament, beginning at 9 a.m. CT and continuing throughout the day at Ole Miss Soccer Stadium.

The Rebels will field two squads and will be joined by collegiate teams Vanderbilt, Memphis, Arkansas-Little Rock and Christian Brothers. Also participating will be the Tennessee Under-23 select team, the Germantown Fury club team and a group of Ole Miss alumni.

"We're excited about playing on our home field against some quality opponents," said Rebel head coach Steve Holeman. "This tournament has always been a great deal of fun for everyone involved, and we expect to have a lot of our players back in the lineup and seeing their first action of the spring."

Among those expected to return are junior Lindley Beckman and freshman Elise Karlowicz, who both underwent offseason surgery, and 2002 SEC Freshman of the Year Kelly Renie, who tore her ACL in the second match of the fall campaign.

With numerous starters and key players sidelined, Ole Miss opened the spring season with a 1-1-1 showing at a Memphis tournament on Feb. 28. Behind goals by freshmen Brittney Potts and Sammi Gould, the Rebels turned in a 2-0 shutout of the Peachtree City Lazers Under-17 club team.

Potts, a 2003 SEC All-Freshman Team forward, struck again against defending Big 12 Tournament Champion Oklahoma State, and the Rebels and Cowgirls finished in a 1-1 tie. Karen Hall provided the lone Ole Miss goal in a 3-1 loss to Miami (Ohio).

The Rebels, who have made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, follow up the 7 Aside tourney with four more spring dates, including the annual alumni match on Apr. 17 as part of Red-Blue Weekend and the Ole Miss Club Team Invitational on Apr. 24.
