ATLANTA - Justin Reed became the first Ole Miss Rebel to earn All-Southeastern Conference honors all four years Tuesday, as the senior forward was named to the All-SEC first team by the Associated Press.

It marks the first All-SEC first team selection by a Rebel since Rahim Lockhart in 2001 and the first ever for Reed, who garnered AP third team accolades the previous three seasons. He was an All-SEC second team pick by the league coaches in 2002.

A native of Jackson, Miss., Reed is the only player to rank top five in the conference in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 18.6 points and 7.6 boards. He has recorded five double-doubles and 12 games with 20 or more points, including a career-high 32 in a Rebel victory over No. 23 South Carolina.

Reed also teamed with fellow senior forward and former high school teammate Aaron Harper to form the top-scoring duo in the league at a combined 35.3 points per game.

Reed, the only two-time Wooden Award candidate ever from a Mississippi college, moved into fifth on the Ole Miss all-time scoring list this season and seventh in career rebounding.

Reed and the Rebels (13-14) open SEC Tournament play Thursday against Vanderbilt (19-8) at 7:30 p.m. ET at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. The matchup will be televised by Jefferson-Pilot Sports.
