Lady Rebels Finish In 12th Place At Lady Paladin Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Ole Miss women's golf team shot a tournament best 305 on Sunday to climb two spots in the team standings and finish in 12th place at the 35th annual Lady Paladin Invitational. Ole Miss carded a three-round tournament total of 306-321-305--932. The host school Furman took home the team title with their tourney total of 292-298-304--894.

"After struggling a little bit on Saturday I was pleased with our play in the final round," said Ole Miss head coach Meghan Bolger. "We regrouped and played quite well during the final round. I hope we take that momentum with us into our next tournament."

Senior Laura Evans turned in a 74 on Sunday to post a tournament total of 73-83-74--230. Evans finished in a tie for 23rd place in the individual standings. Junior Sarah Kate Cousart finished with a 80-77-77--234, and a 45th place finish. Freshman Dori Carter posted her tourney best round on Sunday with a 75. Carter finished in a tie for 52nd place with her three-round total of 76-84-75--235.

Junior Katie Davidson finished one stroke behind Carter as she carded a 77-80-79--236 for the tournament. Davidson finished in a tie for 59th place. Freshman Rachel Ingram rounded out the scoring for Ole Miss as she tallied a 94-81-81--256. Ingram finished the tournament in 88th place. Freshman J.J. Flynn competed in the tournament as an individual and finished with a three-round total of 79-85-84--248. She finished in a tie for 82nd place.

The individual title was won by South Florida's Christina Jones, who fired a one-over 73 to move from third into the winning spot with a 218 tally. Camille Blackerby of TCU placed second at 219, while Amanda Mathis of Mississippi State and Sara Brown of Michigan State tied for third at 220. A pair of Furman golfers, freshmen Blair Lamb and Kathleen Ekey, tied with Louisville's Cindy LaCrosse for fifth, with a three-round 221 total.

Next up for Ole Miss will be the SEC/ACC Challenge in Destin, Fla. The SEC/ACC Challenge will begin on Friday, Oct. 28 and conclude on Sunday, Oct. 30.
