Ole Miss Defeats South Carolina State, 71-47

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Dwayne Curtis scored 18 points and had 12 rebounds and Ole Miss took advantage of 25 turnovers by South Carolina State in a 71-47 win Sunday at the Jim Thorpe Classic.
Curtis, a 6-foot-8, 290-pound sophomore, made 7-of-9 shots, most of them layups over the smaller Bulldogs' frontline. Curtis, who transferred to Ole Miss (2-1) from Auburn, scored six straight points midway through the second half to give the Rebels a 51-34 lead.
Chris Lee had 10 points, leading South Carolina State (1-2).
Ole Miss scored 29 points off South Carolina State's turnovers. The Bulldogs had 16 turnovers in the first half.
It was close through the first 12 minutes and South Carolina State trailed 16-15 before Ole Miss went on a 16-2 run. Londrick Nolen, who finished with 14 points, had a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws in the burst.
Ole Miss hit 50 percent from the field and made 6-of-12 from 3-point range.
