OXFORD, Miss. - Rebel fans who are not members of the Rod Squad will have an opportunity to join the group on the floor at Saturday's matchup with nationally-ranked Memphis. The first 50 Ole Miss fans wearing a red Rod Squad shirt to the game will be allowed to the courtside section.
The Rod Squad became an official University student organization this year, and beginning with SEC play in January, only members will be allowed on the floor. Membership is $10 and includes floor access, a t-shirt and membership in the Ole Miss Tip-Off Club.
"The Rod Squad is a great way for students to show support for the team and coaches," said Rod Squad president Roun McNeal. "The team is off to a good start, and a win over Memphis would really excite this program. We need the fans to come out and really energize the team."
The Rebels are currently in the midst of "Pack the Pad Week". Ole Miss knocked off Saint Louis Tuesday and takes on Nicholls Thursday at 7 p.m. and the fifth-ranked Tigers Saturday at 2:30 p.m. All Rebel fans are encouraged to pack the stands this week and paint the Tad Pad r
