OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss men's tennis sophomore standout Erling Tveit is one of five Rebels to be ranked in the ITA Southeast Regional Rankings, coming in at No. 2.

The Southeast is arguably the top tennis region in the country with four teams finishing the 2005 season ranked among the nation's top 10, including Ole Miss at No. 3. Eight teams from the region ended the year in the top 25.

Tveit, who began the fall ranked No. 43 nationally, finished with an 11-3 record, including capturing the Southeast Regional Championship.

In his first season with the Rebels last year, Tveit went 21-2 in dual matches on his way to earning All-SEC honors and helping the Rebels claim their second consecutive SEC Championship and fourth straight SEC West title. He was also instrumental in the Rebels' run to the NCAA Final Four.

Junior Eric Claesson also enjoyed an excellent fall campaign and is ranked No. 10 in the Southeast Region. He posted a 14-4 record which included a semifinal appearance in the regional championship.

The Rebs' lone senior, Juan Pablo Di Cesare, earned a regional ranking of No. 23 after going 10-6 this fall.

Ole Miss had two doubles teams earn regional rankings, led by Tveit and Claesson at No. 5. Bram ten Berge and Jakob Klaeson are ranked No. 14 in the Southeast Region.

The Rebels will begin the 2006 season Jan. 27 when they host 2005 NCAA participant Louisville.
