OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss' celebrated 2005 soccer signing class has grown even stronger with the inking of Charlotte's Brook Thebeau to a national letter of intent, as announced by Rebel head coach Steve Holeman.
A 5-foot-1 defender/forward, Thebeau is an All-State performer at North Mecklenburg High School. She has twice been named to the Charlotte Observer All-Observer team and was the 2003 conference player of the year.
Thebeau is also a member of the Charlotte Soccer Club, which is a two-time State Cup semifinalist, and has spent four years in the North Carolina Olympic Development Program, helping her team advance to the 2003 ODP national semifinals.
"Brook brings great experience, coming from one of the top club teams in the Southeast," Holeman said. "She is a very versatile player who can play in back or up front. She possesses quickness and athleticism and is another player who is very comfortable on the ball."
Thebeau is Ole Miss' eighth signee for the 2005 season, joining Amy Bayles (5-7, F, Florence, Ala.), Christine Breaux (5-3, D/M, Gonzales, La.), Austin Brown (5-6, D, Lucedale, Miss.), Jennifer Hance (5-11, M, Sugar Land, Texas), Kellye LaVera (5-6, M/F, Louisville, Ky.), Leslie Robichaux (5-4, M, Geismar, La.) and Amanda Verkin (5-5, D/M, Sugar Land, Texas).
