Lady Rebels Conclude Day One At Liz Murphey

ATHENS, Ga. - The Ole Miss women's golf team wrapped up the opening day of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in 17th place after a first-round 325 Friday at the University of Georgia Golf Course.
The Lady Rebels had a difficult opening round, as only one Ole Miss golfer, senior Nikki Hadd, registered a round under 80.
The tournament host, Georgia (298), leads the field of 18, followed by LSU (300), Tulane (301), Wake Forest (301) and Auburn (304) rounding out the top five.
Hadd's 78 led the Lady Rebels, and she heads into Saturday's middle round tied for 39th place. Juniors Sarah Kate Cousart (81) and Laura Evans (82) followed Hadd in Ole Miss' scoring.
Sophomore Katie Davidson shot an unusually high 84, while freshman Katherine Jones rounded out the Ole Miss scoring with an opening-round 89.
The Lady Rebels will look to improve their scores and standing as they compete in Saturday's second round at the par 72 course, with tee times slated to begin at 9 a.m.
