Soccer Team Ends Spring Saturday with Home Tournament

OXFORD, Miss. - The Rebels wrap up their spring soccer season Saturday with the Ole Miss Club Team Invitational. The tournament will run throughout the day at Ole Miss Soccer Stadium and is free to the public.
"Saturday's showcase will be a great way to end a successful spring season," said Rebel head coach Steve Holeman. "We will have some of the top club teams in the South on campus and are looking forward to two very competitive matches The team has been training hard all spring and this should provide us with a way to see how far we have progressed."
Ole Miss has turned in a 4-1-1 record in full-squad action during the exhibition season, and is coming off a weekend split at the Blue Chip Showcase Saturday in Cincinnati. The Rebels shut out Louisville 2-0 and suffered its lone setback of the spring against SEC-rival Vanderbilt 1-0.
Freshman Chrissy Strini recorded her team-high fourth assist of the offseason against the Cardinals, and is tied for second on the club in overall points with 6. Kelly Renie tops Ole Miss in points with 7 and goals with 3, while Brittney Potts has 2 goals and 2 assists.
Nine different Rebels have netted goals this spring, notably Amy Gill and Christine Liberto with 2 apiece.
