OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss Soccer Camp has attracted a record turnout this week, with over 240 campers from 13 different states on campus.
The five-day session, which is the Rebels' second residential camp of the summer, is a combination of individuals and teams and comprising 16 different squads.
"Along with the success of the women's soccer program has come an increased interest in our summer camps," said Ole Miss head coach and camp director Steve Holeman. "These camps provide a wonderful opportunity for the girls to come and see the beautiful campus and the first-class facilities we have at Ole Miss. We have worked hard to put together a very talented staff, who has made this camp a great learning experience in a fun environment."
The staff of over 30 instructors features some of the region's top college, club and high school coaches as well as several current and former Rebel players. The camp staff stresses technical skills and tactical development through training sessions during the day and full-field matches in the evening.
Ole Miss' final soccer camp of the summer is a Coed Day Camp for ages 4-13 that runs July 31-Aug. 3. Cost is $100. For more information or to register, contact Melinda Smith at 662-915-1294.
