ATHENS, Ga. - The Ole Miss men's tennis team seeks it third straight tournament title of the fall Monday, as junior Eric Claesson will battle Georgia's John Isner in the finals of the championship draw at the Southern Intercollegiates. The two will square off at 9:30 a.m. CT at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Claesson will be going for his second tournament title of the fall, as he also won the Ole Miss Fall Classic earlier this month. In the quarterfinals, Claesson, ranked No. 110 in the nation, defeated 72nd-ranked Alex Schweizer of Auburn 7-5, 6-3.

He followed that up with an exciting three-set match against Nestor Briceno of Florida, in the semifinals. Briceno, ranked No. 81 nationally, claimed the first set 6-4, but Claesson rallied to win the second and third sets. The second set went to a tiebreaker, which Claesson won 7-4 to avoid elimination. He won the decisive set 7-5 to advance to the final match against the 6-9 Isner, who is ranked No. 4 in the country.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two players. Isner defeated Jonathan Stokke of Duke in the quarterfinals 7-6 (5), 6-4, and then topped Ole Miss' Bram ten Berge in the semifinals, 6-3, 6-2.

ten Berge defeated Yevgeny Supeko of South Carolina, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to reach the semifinals. It marked the second straight tournament that ten Berge has reached at least the semifinals. He advanced to the finals of the Middle Tennessee Fall Invitational last weekend.

Ole Miss will have two players going for a title on Monday, as newcomer Christopher Rea advanced to the finals of the Division II Singles. Rea came back to beat Kiril Tcherveniachki of Tennessee 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Rea beat Zach Rath of Georgia Tech 6-2, 6-4. He will face Prediag Burmazovic of USC-Upstate in the final Monday at 9:30 a.m. CT.
