10/3/2006 | Men's Basketball

OXFORD, Miss. Three non-conference dates on the Ole Miss Rebel basketball schedule have been picked up for television, as ESPNU will show the Connecticut game and Comcast Sports Southeast will air two others.

The Rebels are scheduled to make at least 13 television appearances in 2006-07, marking the ninth straight season that Ole Miss has played on TV 10 or more times.

The Nov. 19 meeting with UConn is part of the Hispanic College Fund Classic in Hartford, Conn., and is slated for an 8 p.m. ET tip. The game will be the Rebels’ first on ESPNU and first against the two-time national champion Huskies.

CSS has picked up Ole Miss’ Nov. 30 matchup with New Orleans and moved the start up one hour to 6 p.m. CT. The network will also televise the Dec. 16 encounter at South Alabama at 5 p.m.

The Ole Miss-USA battle is part of the Coors Classic doubleheader at Mobile’s Mitchell Center and will be followed by Alabama vs. Southern Miss in the late game.

Ole Miss opens its first season under head coach Andy Kennedy with exhibitions against North Alabama, Nov. 3 and Delta State, Nov. 6. The 2006-07 season opener pits the Rebels against Mississippi Valley State, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at Tad Smith Coliseum.
