Todd Abernethy scored 15, going 3-for-4 from 3-point range, with 6 assists, while Kenny Williams accounted for 12 points and 4 rebounds. Eniel Polynice also added 8 points on 4-7 shooting for the Rebels, who beat UNA 108-103 Friday in their first exhibition.
Ole Miss used an early 14-0 run to make the score 21-7 and would not trail the remainder of the game. Ole Miss led by as much as 27 in the period and shot 62.9 percent in the first half to stretch the lead to 51-25 at the midway point.
“It was a tale of two halves,” said Rebel head coach Andy Kennedy. “In the first half, I thought we played well. We had our adjustments, shot the ball, and played really good half-court defense. We kept them at bay.
“In the second half, we just got careless with the ball. We had a 25-point lead, and we played like we were just trying to get through the half. That is something I am trying to get out of these guys heads, to play every minute of the game. That is how you have to play big-time college basketball.”

“Whether we are ready or not, the season opener is this Friday,” said Kennedy. “I wish we could have more practice to get ready. Certainly we know that adversity is coming. We will face it, we just don’t know when. That is what I have tried to help these guys in situations so that they will be better prepared.”
