Ole Miss Surges Over UIC 77-64

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Clarence Sanders scored 20 points to lead Ole Miss to a 77-64 win over Illinois-Chicago on Tuesday.
Ole Miss (10-2) held the Flames to a pair of baskets in the final five minutes, breaking open a tight 61-59 game with a 16-2 surge.
Sanders scored 16 second-half points, including 13 in the decisive late run.
UIC (6-6) led 27-26 at half time but faded offensively in the final minutes of the game. The teams changed leads six times before Sanders sunk a 3-pointer and put the Rebels ahead for good with 10:13 left.
Bam Doyne scored 18 points, while Dwayne Curtis chipped in 13 for the Rebels and grabbed 12 rebounds in posting his second double-double in the last three games. Jermey Parnell added 11 points.
Ole Miss shot 19-of-29 from the field in the second half, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range.
T.J. Gray led Illinois-Chicago with 17 points and Othyus Jeffers added 14.
The Flames were 11-of-27 from 3-point range, including five by Gray.
The Rebels return to action Friday hosting Alabama A&M at 7 p.m. CT. Ole Miss continues its week of free holiday basketball, as admission to the game will be free.
