OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss' Dwayne Curtis continues to garner postseason honors, as the sophomore center earned Honorable Mention All-SEC distinction from the Associated Press Tuesday.
Curtis, who also received NABC All-District 6 Second Team accolades, topped the Rebels in scoring (13.6), rebounding (7.6), steals (1.6), blocks (0.6) and field goal percentage (.568) this year. The Chicago native is among the SEC leaders in nine categories, including ranking top-5 in field goal percentage, rebounding and offensive boards. He turned in six 20-point outings and seven double-doubles in his first season of action at Ole Miss after transferring from Auburn.
Curtis is the first Rebel to nab All-SEC accolades since Justin Reed earned first team status in 2004.
Also among the AP honorees was a pair of LSU Tigers, as Glenn Davis was named the Player of the Year and Tyrus Thomas the Newcomer of the Year. Tennessee's Bruce Pearl took home the SEC Coach of the Year award.
