Women's Tennis To Host Troy Wednesday

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's tennis team will try to snap a three-match losing streak Wednesday as they host Troy at 2 p.m. at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.

The Lady Rebels (7-6, 1-5) dropped a pair of matches over the weekend, falling to No. 12 Vanderbilt, 4-3 and losing to No. 29 Kentucky, 6-1. Three of their conference losses have been by one point.

Freshman Kseniia Tokarieva suffered her first defeat of the season in Sunday's loss to Kentucky but still stands at 12-1 overall and 5-1 in the SEC. Junior Ilona Somers is next with an 8-3 dual match record.

Troy comes into Wednesday's match sporting a 10-3 record. They captured the Lady Eagle Classic last weekend with a 4-2 win over Syracuse on Sunday. The Trojans are led by freshman Rawia Elsisi who owns a 10-4 overall record, 8-3 at No. 1 singles.

Following the match on Wednesday, the Lady Rebels will conclude the home portion of their schedule with LSU Friday at 4 p.m. and Arkansas Sunday at 1 p.m. The first 100 fans to the LSU match will receive a free t-shirt courtesy of Ink Spot. On Sunday, the first 100 fans to the Arkansas match will get a sun visor courtesy of Coca-Cola of Sardis.
