OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss head basketball coach Andy Kennedy announced Wednesday that Tracy Dildy and Michael White are being retained as Rebel assistant coaches.

"I am excited about Tracy and Michael continuing in their roles with Ole Miss basketball," said Kennedy, who was introduced as Ole Miss' 20th head coach last Friday. "Their contributions and commitment to the future of Ole Miss basketball are important to our long-term success."
Both Dildy and White have served with the Rebels the last two years after arriving in Oxford in the spring of 2004. Their first season on the Ole Miss staff saw them help assemble a 2005 signing class that was ranked as high as third in the nation by recruiting publications.
Listed among the top-25 recruiters in the nation by Rivals.com, Dildy is a 17-year coaching veteran who has also worked at Auburn, DePaul, Ball State and his alma mater UIC. Prior to joining the Rebels, Dildy spent two seasons as an assistant on the Plains, and in 2002-03, helped the Tigers, a preseason last-place pick in the SEC, post a 22-12 mark and reach the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, where they fell to eventual national champion Syracuse 79-78.
Dildy served five years at DePaul, 1997-2002, and was responsible for four outstanding recruiting classes. The Blue Demons' 2001 class was ranked No. 1 in the nation, while the 1999 group was tabbed No. 2. Dildy's recruits include Quentin Richardson, who was both the Conference USA Player and Freshman of the Year in 1999 at DePaul, and Bonzi Wells, who earned Mid-American Conference Player of the Year honors twice and is the MAC's all-time leading scorer at Ball State.
A four-year starting point guard for the Rebels (1995-99), White helped guide Ole Miss to one of the most successful stints in the program's history, earning consecutive SEC Western Division titles, three straight NCAA Tournament berths and the Rebels' first ever Tournament win in 1999. White led the squad in assists all four years and ranks fifth on the Ole Miss career assist list with 370.
Following his playing days, White spent four years on Mike LaPlante's Jacksonville State staff, helping coordinate the Gamecocks' recruiting efforts for three seasons. His time in Jacksonville, Ala., included the school's first-ever conference tournament victory in 2002-03 en route to JSU's first 20-win campaign in almost a decade. He was promoted to associate head coach prior to his final season at Jacksonville State.
