OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss soccer team will continue its spring exhibition schedule this weekend with an alumni game between current and former Rebel players on Saturday, followed by the Ole Miss College/Club Showcase on Sunday, which includes teams from Ole Miss, Memphis, Columbus State, Georgia ODP and Mississippi United, all at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium.

The Rebels are coming off a successful weekend in Decatur, Ala., in which they defeated Marquette 2-0 and tied the Region III ODP squad, 1-1. Marquette made it to the final 16 teams of the 2005 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament before falling to eventual national runner-up UCLA. The Region III ODP team consists of the top young players in the Southeast.

Previously this spring, the Rebel squad has defeated UAB 1-0, lost to Memphis 3-0 and dropped a tight 2-1 decision to LSU.

Saturday's alumni game will pit 18 former Rebels against this year's team in a 10 a.m. match. Last April, the Rebels used goals from Morgan Reichel and Chrissy Strini to down the former Rebs 2-1.

Ole Miss will kick off Sunday's games with a 9 a.m. contest against the Georgia ODP squad. The Rebels will square off against the Mississippi United club team at noon. Other matches include Memphis vs. Columbus State (10:30 a.m.), Memphis vs. Georgia ODP (1:30 p.m.) and Columbus State vs. Mississippi United (3 p.m.).

Ole Miss is returning 11 starters from a 2005 team that won the program's third Southeastern Conference Western Division title and finished second overall in the league, while making the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the last four years. Returning players include All-America and All-SEC selection Chrissy Strini and SEC Freshman of the Year and Freshman All-America pick Jennifer Hance, as well as former All-SEC performers Brittney Potts, Kelly Renie and Lyndsey Williams, and Freshman All-America selection Christine Breaux.

The Rebels will wrap up the spring season in Nashville, Tenn., on April 22 with matches against Vanderbilt and a team to be announced.

"We're coming off a big weekend by beating Marquette and tying with the Region III team," said Ole Miss head coach Steve Holeman, entering his 12th season at the helm in Oxford. "This is our one event at home this spring, and it's a big weekend with Red-Blue weekend, so we hope some fans can come over and watch some quality soccer."

Admission to all matches is free of charge.
