Women's Golf To Compete In Kentucky Wildcat Invitational

OXFORD, Miss. The Ole Miss women’s golf team will compete in the Kentucky Wildcat Invitational this weekend in Lexington, Ky.  The 54-hole tournament will take place at the Par 72, 6,157 yard University Club.

 

Saturday will consist of 36 holes with the final 18 to be played Sunday.  The field features three teams ranked in the latest GolfWeek Rankings, including No. 14 Birmingham Southern, No. 43 Augusta State and No. 45 Nebraska.  The rest of the tournament includes Central Florida, East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, Miami, Mississippi State, Murray State, Nebraska, North Carolina State and Richmond.

 

Ole Miss will send Dori Carter, Katie Davidson, Katherine Jones, Sara Grantham and J. J. Flynn to the tournament.  Megan Johnson will be competing as an individual.

 

The Lady Rebels opened the season with a fifth place finish at the Jeannine McHaney Intercollegiate in Lubbock, Texas.  Carter earned her third career top 10 finish with a personal best 218.  Davidson and Jones tied for 14th at 222.
