Five Of Seven Rebel Netters Advance At ITA Southeast Regional

OXFORD, Miss. -- Five of seven Ole Miss men's tennis players advanced to the round of 32 in singles at the ITA Southeast Regional Friday night at the Lexington Tennis Center. The Rebels also had one doubles advance to the second round.

Top-seeded Erling Tveit defeated Sakeith Myneni of Alabama, 7-6(3), 6-1. Third-seeded Robbye Poole downed Brad Cox of Kentucky, 6-2, 6-3. Junior Bram ten Berge held off Alabama's Javier Bes, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. Senior Matthias Wellermann cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 win over Jeremy Tweedt of Tennessee 6-2, 6-3. Sophomore Kally Norberg dominated Mississippi State's Ryan Farlow 6-2, 6-3 to round out the Rebel winners.

In doubles, Wellermann and ten Berge defeated a team from Florida A&M 8-5.
