Andy Kennedy Postgame Quotes

11/16/2007 | Men's Basketball

On the team's performance in the paint:

"I thought our spacing was a lot better. We were trying to get the ball inside. Our big guys have been very efficient. We've tried to put them in a position to score and tonight we tried to do that. Our guards did a good job of getting them the ball, as well."

On the team not letting up after a large halftime lead:

"We talked about it at halftime. We wanted to play the game regardless of the score. I wanted us to put together two good halves and improve. We did that tonight."

On the talented new players in the program:

"There is no such thing as levels of programs, but levels of players. Our staff has done a good job of bringing in some SEC-caliber athletes. We have a lot of youth, so that is why we scheduled these non-league games. They have given them experience and are getting the feel for the game. I'm hoping that we will continue to improve."

On how the week off will help the newcomers:

"The way our schedule has fallen and with the fact the season was moved up a week, we really haven't had a lot of time. We've had three games in six days, and it has put a wear and tear on a group of guys who don't have a lot of experience. The guys are going to get a much-needed rest."
