Ole Miss Soccer Announces Spring Schedule

OXFORD, Miss. Head coach Steve Holeman announced the 2007 Ole Miss spring soccer schedule on Tuesday, as the Rebels begin preparations for the 2008 fall season.

 

Highlighting the spring exhibition season is a March 31 match against Southeastern Conference foe LSU as the opening act for a preseason Major League Soccer contest between the Chicago Fire and Los Angeles Galaxy in Ridgeland, Miss.

 

The Rebels kick off the spring with a Feb. 24 doubleheader against Middle Tennessee and Marshall at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively, at the Mike Rose Complex in Memphis, Tenn.

 

The following weekend the Rebels travel to Birmingham, Ala., to take on Samford and UAB in a Saturday doubleheader. Game times are slated for 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

 

Ole Miss hits the home pitch on Saturday, March 24, when the Rebels host a three-team tournament with Louisiana-Monroe and Memphis. Ole Miss will square off with the Warhawks at 1 p.m. and the Tigers at 7 p.m.

 

The Rebels will head to Big 12 country on Saturday, April 14, for a doubleheader against Oklahoma at 12:30 p.m. and Oklahoma State at 7:30 p.m., in Tulsa Okla.

 

The spring season will be capped off by the annual Ole Miss Alumni Weekend, during which the current Rebels will face the former Rebels in a 10 a.m. match on Saturday, April 21.

 

All home spring matches are free to the public.
