Ole Miss To Host Free Halloween Exhibition Game
10/22/2008 | Men's Basketball
OXFORD, Miss. The Ole Miss men's basketball team will tune up for the 2008-09 season with an exhibition game against North Alabama, free to fans, at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, at Tad Smith Coliseum.
Rebel fans will get to see the team in action two weeks before the start of the season. The 4 p.m. time slot was chosen to give families and fans a chance to enjoy some hoops and still have time for Halloween activities in the evening.
In addition, fans will be treated to complimentary Halloween candy at the game, and Ole Miss player and coaches will be signing autographs following the contest. The women's hoops team will be greeting fans for autographs and photos prior to the game.
Head coach Andy Kennedy's club, which is coming off a 24-11 campaign and a trip to the NIT Final Four in New York City, will open the regular season at home on Nov. 14 against Arkansas State at 7 p.m.
SEC All-Freshman point guard Chris Warren returns along with SEC All-Freshman pick Trevor Gaskins, Zach Graham and starters David Huertas and Eniel Polynice to form a potent backcourt, while Malcolm White will be joined by a strong group of newcomers in the frontcourt.
