Stankey Leads Rebels To A Pair Of Victories

OXFORD, Miss. The Ole Miss Rebel rifle team picked up a pair of victories over the weekend, as they knocked off Air Force and UTEP in a dual match hosted by UTEP.
The Rebels fired a team aggregate score of 4569 to best both teams. The Falcons fired a team aggregate score of 4556, while the Miners posted a team aggregate of 4532.
Freshman Keely Stankey led the Rebels with a season best of 584 in the air rifle, as Ole Miss posted a team air rifle aggregate of 2311. Senior Jessica Hornby added a score of 579, while Erica Swanson and Meredith Holman rounded out the Rebel line with scores of 575 and 573, respectively.
Stankey also paced the Rebel efforts in the smallbore with a score of 571, as the Rebels fired a team smallbore total of 2258. Hornby posted a 569 and junior Colleen Tillson fired a 564. Holman tallied a score of 554 to round out the Rebels' scoring.
"I'm excited we were able to pick up a couple of victories," said Ole Miss head coach Valerie Boothe. "We were actually plagued by a little sickness, so our scores could have been better, but I'm happy we picked up a couple of wins."
The Rebels will play host UTEP again on Nov. 8 at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center in Oxford.
