John Brady Postgame Quotes
11/14/2008 | Men's Basketball
"That was fun, wasn't it? My team that I'm coaching we are in the process of trying to learn how to win. This certainly wasn't the best place to come to and try to win a game with almost a new team and a new coach in this place."
"I thought we defended well, I thought we rebounded well. The second half we took care of the ball a little bit better One of our biggest problems is that could not just make a basket. In my mind and in the experience that I had sitting there I didn't think we took bad shots for the most part. I'm sure over the game there were four or five we shouldn't have taken, but for the most part I thought we had the right guys taking the shots they should have been taking, we have to hit some of those."
"From a rebounding standpoint and from defending them to a low field-goal percentage on their home floor, that was big for our team. The things we didn't do, at critical times our first defense was pretty good, but at times we didn't keep them off the glass and they would get a second opportunity. After I go over the film I would be willing to bet that they score off second chance opportunities 85 to 95 percent of the time. If we eliminate the majority of those then we would probably have a decent opportunity, who knows."
"We had the opportunity to go from nine to seven, but we missed a wide-open lay up, I don't know what happened there. They made timely shots to stretch the score from six to eight to 13 or 14. I was proud of our team on how it competed, on how it tried to defend and how it rebounded. I wasn't really disappointed at the offensive play; we just have to be able to make a basket or two."
