Andy Kennedy Postgame Quotes
11/18/2008 | Men's Basketball
On losing Eniel Polynice...
"We're going to have to figure out a way to come together defensively. He was unquestionably our best perimeter defender and had our best basketball IQ as of late."
On Zach Graham's performance...
"I thought he gave us some great minutes offensively. Defensively, I'll have to look at the tape to see how he did specifically."
On the free throw shooting and perimeter shooting...
"I just heard it was a school record (22-22) for free throws. It's always good to make your foul shots. We shot 11-26 from three, but we're not being very productive at the basket. We've got some holes there, we aren't finishing well."
On David Huertas' play...
"We needed him before Polynice went done, and we really need him now that he is out. We're not going to get the same production from Eniel's position with him out. We have to be really solid at both guard spots. It was a great game for David's confidence."
On the young team...
"I didn't see a lot of nerves out there tonight. I thought we were fouling too much. We had to change our look a little bit because of the foul trouble. As a result we got out of our defense. Our offense was good, we didn't turn the ball over much. We've got to get to where we want to be on defense. Got to keep working and stay patient."
On Malcom White's performance...
"Mac's effort has been good. He's done a good job rebounding the basketball. He's still rushing on offense and needs to settle down. He tries to hit a home run every time. Foul trouble got him in trouble tonight."
Injury trouble...
"My first year at Cincinnati, we had a few injuries, but not two that were tied together this closely. We've lost two of our most experience guys. Luckily we still have enough bodies where it won't affect us too much in practice with what we want to do. "
