Ole Miss Rifle Announces Signing Of Holman

OXFORD, Miss. Ole Miss rifle coach Valerie Boothe announced the signing of Emma Holman to a national letter of intent on Monday. Holman will begin competing for the Rebels beginning in the 2009-10 academic year.

Holman, a native of Annandale, Va., is the sister of Meredith Holman, a sophomore on the Ole Miss rifle team. She attended W.T.Woodson High School and is a four-year member of the rifle team. She is serving as team captain as a senior. Holman has placed in the top ten at the National Rifle Association 3P Air Championships for the past four years and has qualified for the NRA 3P Air Junior National team the past four times.

In addition, Holman qualified for the finals at the Junior Olympics in 2005 and 2006 and has held eight national records in either smallbore or air rifle.

"We are very excited about Emma joining our team," Boothe said. "She will be a great addition to our squad and she will bring a ton of energy."
