Rebels Continue Success At Bulldog Scramble

11/8/2008 | Men's Tennis

ATHENS, Ga. The Ole Miss men’s tennis team continued its success at the Bulldog Scramble Saturday, winning all of its matches to remain undefeated on the weekend. In Charlottesville, Va., the senior of Jonas Berg and Bram ten Berge lost their first match of the year, in the semifinals of the ITA National Indoor.

Berg and ten Berge fell to USC's Robert Farah, a 2007 ITA National Indoors Doubles Finalist and his new teammate Steve Johnson, 7-6(2), 6-2. It marked the Rebel duo’s first loss of the year after winning 10 straight, including the D’Novo ITA All-American Championships in October.

The ninth nationally ranked duo concluded the fall with two titles in their first action together, after pairing up with different partners last year.

At the Bulldog scramble junior Kalle Norberg teamed up with freshman Otto Sauer for two doubles wins and then won his singles match.

Norberg and Sauer defeated Dusan Miljevic/Eliot Potvin of Georgia Tech 8-6 before downing Georgia’s Javier Garrapiz and Drake Bernstein 8-2.

In singles, Norberg defeated Kevin King of Georgia Tech, 7-5, 7-6(6) to improve his record to 12-2 this fall.
