OXFORD, Miss. The Ole Miss men’s tennis team wrapped up a successful fall campaign this weekend with two tournaments.  Seniors Jonas Berg and Bram ten Berge advanced to the semifinals at the ITA National Indoor in Charlottesville, Va., while junior Kalle Norberg and freshman Otto Sauer did well at the Bulldog Scramble in Athens, Ga.

Berg and ten Berge reached the semifinals of the year’s second major championship before falling to USC’s Robert Farah and Steven Johnson.

The ITA National Indoor featured the nation’s top men’s and women’s players in singles and doubles.

Berg and ten Berge, ranked No. 9 in the preseason national rankings, finished the fall with a 10-1 record, including capturing the D’Novo ITA All-American Championships.  They became the fourth and fifth players to win a national title.

At the Bulldog Scramble hosted by the University of Georgia, Norberg went 3-1 in singles and teamed with Sauer for a 3-0 record in doubles.  This marked Sauer’s first competition of the fall, after battling an injury.   Norberg finished the fall with an 11-2 singles record, which included winning the USTA Men’s Tennis Invitational to begin the year.

The Rebels, who won the SEC Tournament Championship in 2008, as well as their seventh consecutive SEC West title, combined to go 29-8 in singles and 13-1 in doubles for the fall.

The spring season begins Jan. 29 as Ole Miss hosts Troy at the Gillom Sports Center.
