ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Chris Warren scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half, but it was not enough for a Rebel road win as New Mexico defeated Ole Miss 103-70 at the Pit on Saturday afternoon.
Roman Martinez scored 17 points and had a career-high 12 rebounds while Chad Toppert matched a career scoring high with 21 points to lead New Mexico.
Martinez added five steals and four assists and Toppert made 5-of-6 from 3-point range. The Lobos (6-4) never trailed against the Rebels (6-3).
Daniel Faris added 18 points for New Mexico and Tony Danridge scored 17. Point guards Dairese Gary and Nate Garth, a freshman, each had career highs in assists with 11 and 10, respectively.
Although Ole Miss got within 12-11 after a 3-pointer from David Huertas with 13:53 remaining before halftime, New Mexico regained the momentum with an 8-0 run that included consecutive 3-pointers by Toppert.
The Lobos led 49-32 at the break, then used a 17-2 streak midway through the second half to build their largest lead at 88-58. Danridge then had slam dunks on consecutive possessions as New Mexico made it 97-66.
